Iron Gym – Made of Metal
Sounds heavy-duty, but the iron gym is probably the simplest and least
expensive type of home gym on the market. According to much research,
this exercise product reveals many advantages, including a reasonable
price tag and an easy installation procedure. It can be purchased for
under $30 and offers numerous options, such as various grip positions,
workout for the biceps, triceps, pecs and deltoids, and a weight allowance
of 300 lbs.
An upper body and abdominal
workout can be performed with this exercise product. It is ideal for many
common exercise routines, i.e. push-ups, chin-ups, pull-ups, dips and
crunches. However, many would say that the biggest advantage of the iron
gym is its practicality - it hangs in a doorframe. Attaching and removing
the equipment takes merely seconds, with no damage to the door or doorframe.
Different Methods of Exercise with the Iron Gym
The iron gym boasts numerous effective exercises to get you into shape.
Here are a few:
- With the bar positioned on the floor, you can execute the traditional
push up by holding the hand holds, which gives you more range of motion
than placing your hands on the floor.
- Another good exercise is the sit up. Lie on your back, bend your knees
and slip your feet under the bar, clasping your hands behind your neck
or folding them in front of your chest – now start counting.
- Iron gym ‘dips’ are not to be confused with vanilla ice
cream dipped in chocolate. These dips are not so enjoyable; they are
strenuous floor exercises directed at the triceps. Get ready - place
the iron gym bar on the floor, face away from it, grab the handles,
one in each hand, keep your legs extended and your body in an upright
position. Now lower your hips towards the floor as you bend your elbows,
then raising your hips as you extend your elbows.
- With the iron gym secured in the top of the doorway, you can do pull-ups
with palms facing away from you, or chin-ups with palms facing towards
you. These actions are a terrific workout for shoulders and biceps.
The upward pulling action, with face and chin level with the bar, not
only strengthens muscles, but also fortifies the back.
- For a lower abdominal workout, you can make use of an “Ab Strap”.
Hang from the iron gym rod that is attached to the top of the doorframe,
keeping your knees together. Now lift your knees up towards your chest,
and repeat until you can repeat no more.
There are many versions of the above exercises for use with the iron
gym - the choice is yours.
